The hosta ‘June’ I misplanted in the sun is faring pretty well despite me. It gets afternoon sun, which may yet prove to be a disaster later in the summer, but for now, it remains in shade until after 2 p.m., and the sun it does get enhances its variegation.
Sometimes I think everything I plant survives in spite of me! Nice how the “mistakes” so often work out.
I feel that way, too! I am beginning to wonder if the plants I coddle I end up suffocating from my attention; the ones I forget about for weeks often find their way very well. Plants are amazingly resilient; I need to remember to trust the work Mother Nature has been doing over tens of thousands of years. She’s got more practice at this thing than I have. 😉
